About Tierra Linda Speech and Debate
The Tierra Linda Speech and Debate Club and competition team was founded 3 years ago with the intent of spreading the awareness, knowledge, and learning the skills to succeed at Tierra Linda. Now in 2024, we are so proud to continue to uphold the values originally intended of the club: to learn and have fun!
Meet the Tierra Linda Speech and Debate Team
Mr. Marty De
Advisor, the OG
Mr. Marty De founded the Speech and Debate program at Tierra Linda. After competing in LD, U.S. Extemp, and Prose during high school, he decided to bring the activity of Speech and Debate to our middle school. During his debate career, he was a District Champion and National Qualifier in LD, one of his most passionate events. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and pickleball, reading, and playing the bass. He’s looking forward to being everyone’s coach this year and going to tournaments.
